The Camino de Santiago’s first pilgrim predecessor was who?

Even if the pandemic may have had an impact on tourism and pilgrimage, Santiago de Compostela nevertheless welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. However, this was not always the case; at several points in history, it was on the verge of extinction. Beyond numbers and figures, however, one of the most frequent queries among our pilgrims is: Who was the first person to walk the Camino de Santiago? Some claim that Santiago was the first pilgrim, however it is illogical because he is the one being sought for on the trek.
