Thirteen of the top curling teams in the world will compete for the world title at the World Men’s Curling Championship, which will take place in Moose Jaw, Canada, from March 29 to April 6. The final set of Olympic Qualification Points, which will be used to select quota slots for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, is also on the line in addition to those honors, which heightens the drama.

All teams will face one another in a round-robin format to start the championship. Third and fourth place teams will play fifth and sixth in qualification matches, while the top two teams from round-robin play will advance directly to the semi-finals. The final two semi-final slots will go to the victors of those games. The semi-final winners will then go to the final, and the runners-up will compete for a bronze. After defeating Canada’s Brad Gushue in the previous year’s final, reigning Olympic and world champions Sweden enter this year’s competition as the defending champions.

Canada, this time represented by Sochi 2014 Olympic gold champion Brad Jacobs, will be among the many opponents Niklas Edin faces as he attempts to win back-to-back and an eighth world title. The United States, led by Korey Dropkin, Scotland under Bruce Mouat, and Germany, the current European champions, are also in the wings.
