Kentucky has received a positive update in its recruiting of a top-10 recruit.

It appears like the Kentucky Wildcats have not had any good recruiting news in quite some time. Kentucky has received a positive update in its recruiting of a top-10 recruit.

Fortunately, that has changed.

According to On3’s Joe Tipton, Kentucky has strengthened its position with 5-star shooting guard Caleb Holt, who has just stated that he intends to visit Lexington. Holt also worked briefly with Mark Pope at the last USA U19 Basketball training camp.

“Kentucky has came on strong as of late and he’s locked in an official visit to the Wildcats. Pope was one of his on-court coaches at USA Basketball, allowing Holt to get to know the UK head coach more. I think Kentucky is more of a legitimate contender now than ever before,” wrote Tipton.

If Mark Pope and Co. were to pull this up, it would be one of the bigger surprises in the class of 2026. That’s because the 6-foot-5, 200-pound Holt is a native of Alabama, and both the Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers are making him a major priority. Going into that state and beating out two recent Final Four programs would be quite the move for Pope, who is still searching for his first elite high school recruiting win.

While guys like Jasper Johnson and Malachi Moreno were huge wins, they’re not quite the caliber of Holt, a consensus top-10 prospect ranked as high as fourth overall by Rivals Industry Ranking, which measures all the major recruiting websites.

This recruitment just got a lot more interesting for the BBN to follow.
