Why the Falcons coach expects a ‘huge jump’ from Kyle Pitts in 2025 The Atlanta Falcons are hoping that tight end Kyle Pitts will finally take the next step in the upcoming 2025 NFL season.
The Atlanta Falcons are currently preparing for a 2025 season that will be fraught with high expectations following 2024’s setback. The Falcons recently addressed their biggest problem by selecting multiple edge rushers in the first round of the NFL Draft, but there are still serious uncertainties surrounding the roster, including the future of benched quarterback Kirk Cousins.
Output Atlanta has received…
The Falcons’ tight end Kyle Pitts’ play has been a plot point in recent years. Following a successful debut campaign in 2021, Pitts’ output has plateaued.
According to NFL.com’s Coral Smith, Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson recently opened up about why he anticipates great things from Pitts, a previous top five choice, in 2025.
Output Atlanta has received…
“I anticipate Kyle making a significant leap,” Robinson stated. “Year 2 of the system, you know. We’re in our second year of figuring out our offensive strategy. I’m expecting a lot of positive things from Kyle because of all the things that come with it. Tight ends coach Kevin Koger constantly discusses with him the finer points and the next level he can reach as a player. He is aware of what he needs to improve on with the details, some of the fundamentals and techniques, and the consistency down in and down out.
During the latter stretch of the 2024–25 season, Kyle Pitts was forced to catch passes from Kirk Cousins’ remnants and then rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr.
Output Atlanta has received…
The lack of output Atlanta has been receiving from its former first-round draft pick, however, cannot be entirely explained by that. With Penix Jr. as the full-time starter this season, Pitts should have some security going ahead. In the Falcons’ late-season road loss to the Washington Commanders, the two connected for a crucial touchdown.
Regardless, the Falcons will begin their 2025 season in September.
