Ringo’s spouse Ringo met American actress and former model Barbara Bach a year earlier, and the two have been married since 1981. About 15 years after Barbara first saw him perform with The Beatles, the couple met on the set of Caveman, where they played each other’s love interests. They pledged to stay together after they were in a near-fatal vehicle accident shortly after, in which Ringo’s car flipped over twice. In front of over 70 of their closest friends and family members, including fellow Beatles Paul McCartney and George Harrison (John Lennon had been slain in December 1980), they were legally married on April 27, 1981, in London.

Barbara was a Bond Girl in the 1977 James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me, with Roger Moore, in addition to her role on Caveman, when she first met Ringo. Her other appearances include Up the Academy (1980), The Humanoid (1979), and Force 10 From Navarone (1978), though she abandoned her acting career in the early 1980s. She and Ringo went to rehab together to address their drug and alcohol addictions two years after her final movie, a 1986 short called To the North of Katmandu.

Ringo’s children Ringo had three children from his former marriage to Maureen Cox, who died in 1994 from leukemia, but Barbara and Ringo never had children of their own. Following their separate affairs—Ringo with model Nancy Lee Adams and Maureen with his Beatles bandmate George, who died of lung cancer in 2001—they divorced their 1965–1975 marriage.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Ringo’s first kid, 59-year-old Zak Starkey (full name Richard Starkey), played with the rock group The Who from 1996 till this year. He married Sarah Menikides in 1985 when he was 19 years old, and the two of them had a daughter named Tatia Jayne same year. However, they split up in the early 2000s. After 20 years of marriage, he and his 40-year-old wife Sharna “Sshh” Liguz had a daughter, Luna Lee Lightnin, who was born in 2021.
